Statements of Faith
THE SCRIPTURES. The Bible is the inspired word of God. The product of Holy Men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant as recorded in the New Testament is what we accept as our infallible guide in matter pertaining to conduct and doctrine (II Timothy 3:16; I Thess. 2:13; II Peter 1:21)
THE TRINITY OF GOD. Our God is one, but manifested in three persons. By the trinity of God we mean his tri-personal existence as Father, Son and Holy Spirit – three distinct persons in one God. In Matthew 3:16-17, we have Christ being baptized in water, the Father speaking from heaven, and the Holy Spirit descending as a dove. The doctrine of the Trinity is not explicit in the old Testament, but is rather implied. “And God said, Let US make man…..Gen. 1:26. Jesus is the Son of God, One with the Father, the Word, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1; John 1:18; John 1:14; John 10:30).
The Holy Spirit proceed forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John 15:26).
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST. The Baptism in the Holy Ghost is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to those who are believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of the speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance. (Matt. 3:11; John 14: 16-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 2:4).
